EACH SEASON INCLUDES LEAGUE PLAY AND A POST SEASON TOURNAMENT WHERE EVERY SCHOOL TEAM CAN COMPETE AND CELEBRATE THEIR PROGRESS.

The Gem City Athletic League supports Mariett's elementary schools by offering organized youth sports that promote skill development, character growth, and community involvement. We provide structured league play and postseason tournaments in a competitive, developmentally appropriate environment.

How We Do It
We focus on teaching the game the right way. Our coaches emphasize fundamentals like ball movement, motion offense, proper spacing, and creating separation to develop smart, unselfish players. Defensively, we teach man-to-man principles with a strong focus on helpside positioning and teamwork. Through structured practices and competitive play, athletes learn the skills, discipline, and basketball IQ that set the foundation for long-term success--on and off the court.

Our league emphasizes fundamental skills development, teamwork, and character building. Players learn ball movement, motion offense, spacing, and how to create separation, while also developing strong defensive habits playing man-to-man with helpside support.
